Why use a licensed tradie to disconnect and remove appliances?
Many appliances are hard wired, plumbed in or connected to gas. Simply dragging them out or cutting cables can leave live wires, leaking pipes or uncapped gas points behind. That can be unsafe and cause problems for whoever works on the area next.
Having appliances disconnected and removed by licensed trades makes sure power, water and gas are made safe, capped correctly and compliant so your kitchen, laundry or plant area is ready for new equipment or renovation.
- Safe isolation and disconnection of power, water and gas
- Live cables, pipes and gas points made safe and compliant
- Heavy appliances moved out without damaging floors or cabinets
- Old units removed from site so they are not left in the way
- Clean starting point for new appliances or renovation work

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need a licensed tradie just to remove an appliance?
- Many appliances are hard wired or plumbed in. A licensed electrician, plumber or gas fitter is required to isolate, disconnect and make those services safe. Cutting cords or undoing pipes without doing this properly can be dangerous and non compliant.
Can you remove the old appliance and install the new one in the same visit?
- In many cases yes. If you already have the new appliance on site we can disconnect and remove the old unit, then install and commission the new one in the same booking. Let us know when you enquire so we can allow enough time.
Can you just disconnect and cap services so my builder can work?
-
Yes. We can make power, water and gas safe and leave them capped or terminated so your builder or cabinetmaker can complete their work. When you are ready for new appliances we can return to install and reconnect.
Do you take the old appliances away?
- We can remove and dispose of most domestic appliances as part of the job. Some larger or commercial units may require extra handling or disposal arrangements. We will confirm this when quoting.
What happens during an appliance disconnect and removal visit?
- We start by isolating power, water and gas to the appliance. We then disconnect and cap services as needed, carefully remove or move the appliance, check that all terminations are safe and compliant, and clean up the work area. If new appliances are going in, we can coordinate installation as the next step.
