Why a compliant commercial gas fit out matters
In a commercial kitchen, gas is working hard all day. Poorly designed pipework, undersized lines or non compliant installations can cause low appliance performance, repeated shutdowns, gas leaks and serious safety risks.
A professional fit out makes sure your kitchen has correctly sized gas lines, isolation valves, ventilation and compliance documentation so your equipment can run safely at full capacity and you can focus on service.
- Correct gas pipe sizing for all appliances running at once
- Safe, compliant installation that meets current regulations
- Isolation points positioned for quick and easy shutdown
- Better performance from ovens, cooktops, chargrills and fryers
- Documentation and compliance certificates for landlords, councils and insurers
Commercial Kitchen Gas Design and Installation
Licensed Melbourne gas fitters.
We design and install commercial kitchen gas systems for restaurants, cafes, takeaways and commercial facilities.
Tell us a few details about your venue, appliances and timeline so we can review your plans and provide a clear, staged quote.
We can work from existing plans or help you design the gas layout from scratch, including sizing calculations, pipe routes, isolation valves, testing and final commissioning. All work is carried out to current gas regulations with the compliance documentation you need to open or hand over.

Frequently Asked Questions
What information do you need to design a commercial kitchen gas fit out?
- We need your appliance list with gas types and ratings, kitchen layout plans if you have them, meter location, any landlord or shopping centre requirements and your target opening date. From there we can size the system and map out the installation.
Can you work alongside my builder or shopfitter?
- Yes. We regularly coordinate with builders, shopfitters, exhaust canopy installers and other trades. We can schedule works to suit your program and avoid clashes on site.
What happens if my existing gas line is undersized?
-
If the line is too small, appliances may not run correctly and the installation may not be compliant. In that case we will recommend upgrading or adding new lines so the system can safely supply the full load.
Do you provide gas compliance certificates for commercial kitchens?
- Yes. On completion of the work and final testing we provide the appropriate gas compliance documentation which you can give to your landlord, council, insurer or building certifier.
Can you help with changes to an existing kitchen that is still trading?
- We can often stage works outside of service hours or in sections so you can keep trading where possible. We will discuss shutdown requirements in advance so you know what to expect and can plan around it.
