Why use a licensed tradie for your cooktop?
Cooktops run hot and many draw significant power or use gas. Induction and electric units often need dedicated circuits and correct cabling. Gas cooktops need compliant gas pipework, shut off valves, ventilation and clearances to overhead surfaces.
DIY or unlicensed installations can lead to gas leaks, tripping power, damaged appliances and can void warranty or insurance.
- Safe, compliant electrical and gas connections
- Dedicated circuits and isolation switches where required
- Correct clearances to rangehoods, overhead cupboards and splashbacks
- Smooth changeovers from gas to electric or induction
- Old cooktop safely disconnected and removed if requested

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an electrician to install an electric or induction cooktop?
- Yes. Electric and induction cooktops are high load appliances that must be wired on suitable circuits. A licensed electrician is required to install or modify the circuit and make sure the wiring and breaker are correctly sized.
Can you install an oven I have already bought?
- Yes. If the cooktop meets Australian standards we can install it. We will check the gas type, rating and required clearances, then connect, test and commission it in line with regulations.
What if my new cooktop is a different size to the old one?
-
We measure the existing cut out and the new unit when we arrive. Small differences can often be managed with minor trimming or infill pieces. If the difference is large we will explain what is needed from a cabinetmaker or if a different size unit is a better option.
Can you convert my kitchen from gas cooktop to induction?
- Yes. In many homes we can safely disconnect and cap the gas, then run a new circuit from the switchboard to the cooktop location and install the induction unit. We will assess your switchboard and supply first to confirm capacity.
What happens during a cooktop installation?
- We isolate power and gas, remove the existing cooktop if required, check the opening and surrounding surfaces, then install the new unit and connect gas or power. We seal where needed, test all burners or zones and clean up the work area before we leave.
