Alex and Arian replaced my old heat pump with a new system in less than two hours while the wind speed was 70km/h and they didn’t complain. They took all the rubbish. The job was completed with a neat and clean finish. Why is ducting into the roof space a problem?

  • Blowing steam, moisture or cooking fumes into the roof space can lead to condensation, mould, damaged insulation and long term issues with timber and plaster. It also reduces the effectiveness of your fan or rangehood.
  • Not always, but in many homes there is a way to get ducting outside through a wall, eave or roof. During the quote we will inspect the roof space and wall construction and explain what is possible in your situation.

  • You need an electrician if new wiring, switches or fan upgrades are required. For ducting only, the main work is mechanical and building related. We can coordinate both trades if electrical work is needed.
  • Correctly sized and installed ducting usually improves performance and can reduce noise compared to short, crushed or poorly fitted duct. We use suitable duct sizes, smooth transitions and proper terminations to help air move more quietly.
  • We start by confirming the appliance and the desired termination location. We then access the roof space or wall cavity, install and secure the ducting, cut and fit the external vent or cowl, seal joints and openings, and test operation. Once finished, we clean up and show you where the duct exits and how the system is performing.
