Why use a licensed tradie for your rangehood?
A correctly installed rangehood helps remove steam, smoke, grease and cooking smells from your kitchen. Poor installation can leave air recirculating, create noisy operation and allow grease to build up in the wrong places. Electrical connections, ducting and clearances to the cooktop all need to be right for safety and performance.
Using a licensed electrician ensures your rangehood is wired correctly, mounted securely and ducted as far as the layout allows.
- Safe, compliant electrical connection and switching
- Correct height and clearances over gas, electric and induction cooktops
- Efficient ducting to outside where possible instead of just recirculating
- Less steam, smoke and cooking smells hanging around the house
- Old rangehood safely disconnected and removed if requested

Licensed Melbourne electricians.
We install and replace canopy, slide out and under cupboard rangehoods in homes and small businesses.
Tell us a few details about your new rangehood, your cooktop type and whether there is an existing unit to remove so we can give you a clear, fixed price.
We check power, mounting points, cabinet space and duct paths, then install and wire the new unit to manufacturer specs. Where possible we duct to the outside so you get better extraction and less recirculation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an electrician to install a rangehood?
- Yes. Rangehoods require a fixed electrical connection or powerpoint, and often sit close to cooking surfaces. A licensed electrician is needed to install or modify wiring and make sure the unit is safely connected.
Can my rangehood be ducted outside instead of just recirculating?
- Where there is access through a wall, ceiling or roof we can usually duct to the outside. During the quote we will check roof space, wall construction and any existing ducting to see what is possible and explain your options.
How high should my rangehood be above the cooktop?
-
The required height depends on the cooktop type and the manufacturer instructions, but gas usually needs more clearance than electric or induction. We install the rangehood in line with the appliance and rangehood specifications so it is both safe and effective.
Can you replace my old rangehood with a different size unit?
- Yes, although size changes may leave gaps or require cabinet adjustments. We will measure your existing opening and the new unit, then explain any visible gaps or trim work needed so you can decide how you want to proceed.
What happens during a rangehood installation?
- We isolate power, remove the old unit if required, check mounting points, cabinet space and any existing ducting, then install and secure the new rangehood. We connect power, set up ducting or filters, test lights and fan speeds and clean up the work area before we leave.
